Fivcil Custom Shop Guitar Configuration & Pricing

Build your dream instrument from the ground up. Every Fivcil Custom Shop guitar begins at a base price of $999 — then you select the woods, hardware, and appointments that make it uniquely yours. Below you'll find the complete pricing for every available option, organized by category so you can plan your build with confidence.

1.0 Basics

The foundation of your custom guitar starts here. Choose your preferred body shape, scale length, and finish color. These selections define the fundamental playing feel, tonal character, and visual identity of your instrument before any tonewoods or hardware come into play.

1.1 Body Shape

Select from six carefully refined body profiles, each offering a distinct tonal footprint and playing experience. All body shapes are included at the base price.

  • OM — Orchestra Model, balanced and versatile
  • 38-inch 00 Body — Parlor-inspired, warm and intimate
  • GA — Grand Auditorium, modern all-rounder
  • D — Dreadnought, bold projection and bass
  • OMC — Orchestra Model with cutaway for upper-fret access
  • 36-inch — Compact travel-friendly body
1.2 Scale Length

Scale length affects string tension, playability, and tonal brightness. Choose the measurement that best suits your playing style. All scale lengths are included at the base price.

  • 650 mm — Standard full-scale, bright and articulate
  • 635 mm — Slightly shorter, easier fretting
  • 658 mm — Extended scale, enhanced bass response
  • 596 mm — Available exclusively with the 36-inch body
1.3 Color

Let the wood speak for itself with a natural finish, or make a statement with a fully custom color applied by our finishing team.

  • Natural Wood — +$0
  • Custom Color — +$200

2.0 Wood Selection

Tonewoods are the soul of every acoustic guitar. Your choice of neck, top, back, and sides woods will shape the instrument's voice — from warm and woody to bright and powerful. Fivcil sources premium tonewoods from trusted suppliers worldwide, and each grade is hand-inspected for tap tone, grain consistency, and visual beauty. The prices below reflect the additional cost over the base price.

2.1 Neck

The neck blank determines structural stability and contributes subtle tonal warmth. A two-piece construction is standard and highly reliable; upgrading to a one-piece neck provides a seamless aesthetic and marginally improved resonance transfer.

2.2 Top Wood

The soundboard is the single most influential factor in your guitar's tone. Spruce tops deliver clarity and dynamic range, while cedar tops offer warmth and immediacy. Higher grades feature tighter, more uniform grain and superior tap-tone response — translating directly into richer harmonics and greater volume. Review the full range of available tops below, listed from the included standard option through our most elite offerings.

2.3 Back and Sides Woods

Back and side woods shape the guitar's overtone complexity, projection, and visual character. Mahogany families tend toward warm, focused midrange, while rosewoods add sparkling highs and deep bass. Exotic species like Cocobolo and Brazilian Rosewood bring extraordinary harmonic richness and stunning figuring — these are truly once-in-a-lifetime tonewoods for the discerning builder.

3.0 Other Configuration

The final layer of customization covers hardware, fretboard materials, headstock design, and decorative inlays. These components affect tuning stability, playability, and the visual personality of your finished instrument. While the standard appointments are carefully chosen for quality and reliability, upgrades allow you to fine-tune every detail to your exact specification.

3.1 Tuning Machines

Smooth, reliable tuning is non-negotiable. Choose from industry-standard Grover or precision Gotoh tuners to suit your preferred gear ratio and aesthetic.

  • Grover Open/Closed Tuner — +$0
  • Grover Classical — +$50
  • Gotoh Tuner — Priced based on specific model selected
3.2 Bridge Pins

Bridge pins influence string coupling and sustain transfer. All of the following materials are included at no additional charge — select whichever suits your tonal preference and aesthetic.

  • Bone
  • Ebony
  • Red Sandalwood
  • Plastic Steel
  • Tusq

All bridge pin options: +$0

3.3 Nut and Saddle

The nut and saddle are critical contact points that shape sustain, intonation, and overall clarity. Natural bone is the time-tested standard; TUSQ and camel bone offer alternatives with subtly different tonal characteristics.

  • Bone — +$0
  • TUSQ — +$20
  • Camel Bone — +$20
3.4 Fretboard / Bridge / Headstock Veneer

Ebony is the gold standard for fretboard material — dense, smooth, and beautifully resonant. Upgrading to pure black ebony ensures a flawless, jet-black playing surface with zero visible grain variation.

  • Ebony — +$0
  • Pure Black Ebony — +$50
3.5 Headstock Style

The headstock is the visual signature of your guitar. The standard Fivcil headstock style reflects our brand identity and is designed for optimal string break angle. If you prefer a different silhouette to match a particular aesthetic or tradition, our luthiers can accommodate custom headstock shapes.

  • Fivcil Headstock Style — +$0
  • Other Headstock Styles — +$100
3.6 Inlays

Custom inlays transform your guitar into a one-of-a-kind work of art. Whether you envision classic abalone dots, ornate vine patterns, or a fully bespoke design, our artisans will bring your vision to life. Pricing varies based on the complexity of the design and the materials chosen.

  • Custom Inlays — Starting from +$200 (design + material fees)
